Tips for Vehicle Foreclosures

Foreclosures on vehicles, boats, trailers, and outboard motors (termed "special" foreclosures in the TSSA Goldbook©) can be tricky. A foreclosure on a vehicle, boat, trailer, or outboard motor involves many more steps than a "regular" foreclosure not involving these types of vehicles or boats, and thus the potential pitfalls are greater.
This article will offer some tips and identify some of the most common mistakes in special foreclosure procedures. This article is not by any means a substitute for the comprehensive step-by-step procedure for Special Foreclosures legal article, which begins on the pages 30 (for boats and outboard motors) and 45 (for vehicles and trailers) of the 2006-2007 TSSA Goldbook©.
