New Ideas for Your Knowledgebase

Aug 09, 2013

by Brom Hoban, TSSA Director of Communications

I recently read an article about people who are bilingual, and how that affects their overall cognitive abilities. Turns out that those who master more than one language have a number of benefits. Because they have developed new neural pathways, they tend to use their brains more efficiently, especially when making split-second choices during multi-tasking. This makes sense, as they have trained themselves to make the same sorts of choices when communicating.

I mention the bilingual study because it underscores a larger point: those of us who expose ourselves to new ideas and areas of thought reap myriad benefits.

One easy way for TSSA members to do that is by attending our upcoming Big Ideas in Self Storage Conference & Trade Show at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center October 27-29.

There’s so much to learn in our changing business environment. Technology trends such as online listing aggregation, mobile apps, and online videos/reviews, are already used widely in other real estate segments.  How will these trends affect self storage?   Learn how social marketing, smart phone adoption & online marketing platforms can be used to help drive your business at the Technology Trends Influencing Self Storage session. Or hear an industry veteran discuss a strategy specifically designed for single/rural operators for pricing units to maximize rental income at the  Pricing Strategies to Drive Revenue session. Want a few marketing tips? Attend the Low-Budget Marketing Ideas session and pick up on tried-and-true marketing ideas used by other self-storage facilities, including guerilla tactics, SEO optimization tips, low-cost printing solutions, and more.

These are just the tip of the iceberg. Visit our conference website to learn about the many other sessions and activities available to choose from.

Like folks who speak more than one language, you’ll benefit from the new ideas and pathways integrated  into your knowledgebase!
