TSSA’s Legacy of Giving

TSSA has chosen Shriners Children's Texas as the beneficiary of its fundraising efforts for 25 years, raising over $3 million in lifetime donations! Each year, TSSA members come together with one shared purpose: to make a meaningful difference beyond the self-storage industry. TSSA raises funds throughout the year, culminating at our Big Ideas in Storage Annual Conference and Trade Show. Members get involved in the association’s charitable fundraising via our annual charity casino night and poker tournament, live and silent auctions, raffles and direct donations. Our members continue to prove that when our community unites, we change lives.

Behind every bid, every gift and every contribution is a child whose life will be positively impacted. Proceeds from TSSA’s fundraising support life-altering care, innovative treatments and compassionate services offered through Shriners at no cost to families. It’s difficult to measure the value of that kind of generosity, but the impact is undeniable.

We hope you’ll join us again this year to help make a difference, one child at a time.

Get Involved

We would love for you to participate this year with a monetary donation or by purchasing a gift to be included in our live and/or silent auctions. You can also give back by attending the Charity Casino Night and Poker Tournament, purchasing a raffle ticket at our annual membership luncheon or bidding on an auction item at TSSA’s Big Ideas in Storage Annual Conference 40th Anniversary Celebration.

Monetary donations are tax deductible, and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the hospital.

Permanent Symbol of Gratitude

Because of TSSA’s legacy and commitment to fundraising on behalf of Shriners Children's Texas, the hospital permanently engraved our name at the hospital at the entrance to the Quiet Early Mobility Room, which is a safe space for patients learning (or re-learning) how to stand or walk. The floors are covered with padding so that if a child falls, he or she is protected from injuries from a hard floor. This could be a young child just learning how to coordinate standing or an older kid recovering from a traumatic brain injury. A child may also be learning how to use a prosthetic limb after an amputation. This room also serves as a space to provide therapy for patients who are easily overwhelmed or overstimulated.

Charitable Fundraising Chair

Doug Hunt of Access Self Storage is the longstanding, passionate charitable fundraising chair. He spends countless hours rounding up items for the auctions, soliciting monetary donations and providing volunteer manpower onsite. A big thank you to Doug for his unwavering commitment to raising funds for Shriners.
